If we are to teach compassion for all life in this world, and if we are to carry on a real campaign against cruelty, and against the destruction of our environment, we have to begin with reaching children. To that end, our start-up, www.foralltheanimals.com, hires and teaches children from around the world to write, blog, research and investigate issues related to animals and nature. Our goals include teaching strong writing skills and journalism principles, while nurturing their passions. Learning to love nature and live compassionately is woven throughout our mission. Some children want to be writers, others artists/filmmakers, some want to directly work with animals, others are activists, and all want to make the world a better place.
FOR ALL THE ANIMALS is just getting started. Read ABOUT and then return here. We seek talented, enthusiastic, and motivated children in grade school through high school to write for us. These are paid positions. Children younger than 8 may qualify to be our interns. Those positions will be as volunteers. Some of you will qualify as regular bloggers. Others will contribute written pieces as it fits with our assignments and needs. Articles will be about animals both domestic and wild. When we say 'animals' it include birds, reptiles, fish, insects and all living non-human creatures.
Animal welfare and animal rights will be explored along with the endless topics that involve life on our planet. Positions are open to children around the world. We're also seeking young filmmakers, artists, and photographers.

If you have children interested in writing for us, please have them design their own About Me resume with their interests and background. Include full name, the city and state where you reside, and your age or grade in school. DO NOT SEND AS AN ATTACHMENT! Send any information in the body of an email. Attachments will not be opened up because of viruses.
Email: betsy at livehonestly dot com. After receiving letters/emails of interest we will be in touch with directions for one assigned writing sample. Upon review of your article, you will be contacted. If you have passion and enjoy researching and writing, you'll have a good chance of working with us!
We look so forward to hearing from you!

a warm and trusting connection to the Earth?”

Taking walks with your children is a great way to have fun while teaching them about life. Depending on what's available, you get to introduce them to all kinds of birds, vegetation, animals and insects. It can give them a lifelong love and appreciation for all living creatures, as well as develop an ongoing curiosity to explore the outdoors. It's a perfect time to chat about anything, not just what you're seeing. It also presents opportunities to teach about things like weather, conservation, nature, the seasons, or recycling, and it's a great way to naturally exercise. I think it feeds the whole mind-body-spirit.
